General Information
Sometimes artists will release a film/video of their material. Oftentimes these are recording of live concerts, but notable exceptions include Pink Floyd's The Wall (1982) and The Beatles' Yellow Submarine (1968). These differ from soundtrack albums in their format, films are audio and visual (usually released on VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, etc.) whereas soundtracks are purely audio (usually released on vinyl LP, CD, cassette, 8-Track, etc.)
Introduction
To help give users a consistent experience on the site, this page will outline the standard format for a film page. This is very similar to album pages in order to standardize all releases.
Title Guidelines
- Capitalize the first letter of every word in the artist's title, the film's name and the song's name. (For more information about LyricWiki's page naming guidelines: Page Names)
Film Page Format
The Film page consists of three major sections:
An added section, giving important and relevant information about the film (awards, historical relevance, etc.) could also be added after the song list, under an appropriately descriptive heading.
Template
The following is a generic template of how the Film page is formatted. Replace the sections in <<>> with the correct information and remove the <<>> completely:

Film Template
The first item on the page is the Film template. This template creates a link back to the artist page, categorizes the film by it's initial and genre, gives the running time of the film, and creates an area for the film's cover to be displayed.
The format is as follows. Replace the sections in <<>> with the correct information and remove the <<>> completely:

- The following guidelines apply to the fLetter entry:
- The very first letter should always be used, disregarding the first word if it is A, An, or The. Example: for "The Wall" use "|fLetter = W"
- If the first letter is a number, then use: fLetter=0-9
- If the first letter is a symbol, or is part of a non-Latin-based, ideographic writing system, such as Japanese, then use: fLetter=Symbol
- For the Artist and Film parameters should use the correct capitalization (you do not necessarily have to capitalize the first letter of each word)
- For the runtime, unlike length for album pages, usually only the number of minutes is used. Example: "|Runtime = 95 min."
- If the year that the film was released is unknown, instead of a year, use: ????
- If a picture for the film has not yet been uploaded, the PictureName can be left blank. Also, if the image's filename follows the form "ArtistName - FilmName.ext" it may be left blank, as this is the default
- For page ranking, see Page ranking
Song List
The middle portion of the Film page is the listing of the songs on the film.
- Songs should be listed in the order they appear on the film.
- Capitalize the first letter of every word in the song name. If the song has different capitalization than this, the links may have an alternate text specified for the display title. This is done by changing the capitalization of the second time the song title is listed in the line.

- Special notations about a song (such as featured artists, whether the song is a bonus track, instrumental, live performance, etc.) should be placed after the link to the song, not as part of the song's name. The song title should be kept as close to its official title as possible.
- If the film is a multi-disc set, then the discs should be separated with subheadings:

Film Footer
The final item on the Film page is the FilmFooter template. This template creates external links to help users search for the film on Amazon and other sites. The basic FilmFooter template is:
