[edit] The Templates

The essential page ranking templates, {{Album Rank}}, {{Album Info}}, and {{Watcher}} and their surrounding box (created by {{Star Box}}) are placed at the top of the Talk page of the album being ranked. The Talk page is reached by using the "Discussion" tab at the top of the Album's page. (Any discussion about the Album should still be on this page, set below this template group.)

The grouping of page ranking templates is shown below. Portions shown in GREEN should be changed to correctly reflect the state of that parameter:

Please note that the {{Watcher}} template is optional, but it is required for the Album page to be ranked Bronze, Silver, or Gold.

After adding the above template group to the Talk page, the {{Star}} template should be placed at the top of the album's main page. This provides a visible indicator of the album's current rank, by way of displaying a star on the Album page. An example of this is given below:

[edit] Green

Albums at the Green level are new and in need of human attention. They likely do not have the required sections of the {{Album Info}} template completed.

[edit] Violet

Albums at the Violet level have special needs. Usually, these revolve around non-English language albums and the unique challenges they present to web pages. Very likely this has to do with accented characters or ideographic symbols being incorrect or missing. Violet pages are tagged with a {{Code Purple}} and a general topic of the problem. Specifying a sub-type to the problem greatly helps the people with the right kind of expertise find the page. Albums at the Violet level may have all necessary {{Album Info}} sections completed, but until the special problems are corrected, should not have their level changed.

[edit] Bronze

Albums at the Bronze level, have someone watching it, protecting it from vandals, and working to improve it. All necessary sections of the {{Album Info}} template have not yet been filled in.

[edit] Silver

Albums at the Silver level have had all necessary sections of the {{Album Info}} template filled in, have someone watching it and all songs on the album are ranked at least Silver, but not all are Gold yet.

[edit] Gold

Albums at the Gold level are complete! All necessary information has been filled in, it has at least one watcher, and has all songs on the album at the Gold level. Small changes and updates may take place, but a Gold level Album page should be an example of excellence.

[edit] Status

The following markers may be used to mark a section's status:

1. unknown - this section has not been completed on the Album page
2. done - this section has been completed on the Album page
3. not applicable - this section has not been completed because it does not apply to the Album.

• Example: Unless an album has seen enough success to be ranked on the Billboard charts, it likely does not have a Wikipedia entry. Such albums would have the Wikipedia section of the {{Album Info}} template marked as "not applicable".

[edit] AllSongs Status

The following markers may be used to mark the status of the |allsongs= parameter:

1. Black - the level that should be marked if the album has songs without lyric pages ("red links") and/or the songs on the album have not all been ranked
2. Green - all songs on the album have been listed and exist (no "red links")
3. Violet - translation help is needed on songs on the album
4. Bronze - all songs on the album meet (or exceed) the criteria for being ranked Bronze
5. Silver - all songs on the album meet (or exceed) the criteria for being ranked Silver
6. Gold - all songs on the album meet the criteria for being ranked Gold
