[edit] General Info
Having worked as a librarian and other jobs where organization is key, I tend to spend my time on the site trying to get things in order and accurate. I'm usually found moving pages that haven't been capitalized to their correct pagename location (see LW:PN) and fact-checking recent changes. I shuffle, organize, and generally try to keep things from going too higgledy-piggledy so that hopefully pages are easier to find and so that there will be less duplication. If you have a question about what to do about titling an item or some such thing, I'm a good person to ask.

[edit] My Other Favorite Sites
Metafilter (Best Of The Web links and where I first heard about LyricWiki...[1])
Lazylaces (Point 'n' Click games)
JayIsGames (My favorite games site. Only the good stuff.)
Mental Floss (Short, fun, daily quizzes)
Amazon.com (Mostly because it helps out here. Although, typos aplenty, especially on obscure items.)
[edit] Favorite Songs
Please note that I'm not saying these are the best songs ever. These are just the songs that I enjoy listening to and don't seem to get tired of.
[edit] The Top 7
- John Mellencamp:Jack & Diane (I grew up in the Midwest. This song to me epitomizes growing up in the Midwest.)
- Queen:Bohemian Rhapsody (Pretty much anything by Queen, really, but way before Wayne's World, my friends and I were "head-banging" to the rock section.)
- Yes:Owner Of A Lonely Heart (In my opinion, sheer listening perfection.)
- Pink Floyd:Learning To Fly (Ever had a dream where you could fly? This is the soundtrack.)
- Crash Test Dummies:Superman's Song (I'm a comic geek, and this is the most beautiful comic-related song I know.)
- Bruce Hornsby And The Range:The Way It Is
- Blue Öyster Cult:Astronomy (The version from Blue Öyster Cult:Imaginos (1988) is my favorite.)
[edit] General Favorites
- They Might Be Giants:Ana Ng
- They Might Be Giants:Birdhouse In Your Soul
- The Beatles:Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) (I'm sure I could list a half-dozen Beatles tunes, but this one [made on a 4-track recorder] doesn't sound dated over 40 years later. Anyone who doesn't think that pretty much all of modern music doesn't owe a debt to the Fab Four need to listen to this again...and with the volume waaay up!)
- Barenaked Ladies:Light Up My Room
- R.E.M.:It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)
- Paul Simon:You Can Call Me Al
- John Denver:The Eagle And The Hawk
- The Kingston Trio:Scotch And Soda (For my Mom, who loved the Folk Era of the late 50s, early 60s. Would the great Folk Rock acts like Crosby, Stills And Nash and Bob Dylan have existed without the incredible success of The Kingston Trio? Personally, I don't think so.)
- Rick Springfield:Jessie's Girl
- The Rolling Stones:Paint It, Black
- The Rolling Stones:Sympathy For The Devil
- The Who:Baba O'Riley (Gives me shivers every time.)
- Pet Shop Boys:West End Girls
- Tom Cochrane:Life Is A Highway (This, the original, is the best version. Sorry, Rascal Flatts.)
- The Dream Academy:Life In A Northern Town
- Jethro Tull:Songs From The Wood
- Van Halen:Panama (The CYMBALS! Holy !@#!$! the CYMBALS!!!!}
- John Mellencamp:Authority Song (A touch of rebellion never hurt anyone, eh?)
- Neil Young:Rockin' In The Free World (Nobody can rock a protest song like Neil Young. Nobody.)
[edit] Obscure Favorites
- Dire Straits:Industrial Disease (So many good Dire Straits songs, but this one is so different.... ...Two men say they're Jesus, one of them must be wrong...)
- The Men:Church Of Logic, Sin & Love (...when Kennedy was in Life magazine and everything was aquamarine...Aquamarine....)
- Roy Orbison:The Comedians (On Roy's last album before he died, this is a cover of the Elvis Costello song, but with Roy's incredibly heart-felt, melancholy voice. Sheer beauty.)
- Jellyfish:The King Is Half-Undressed
- Bonzo Dog Band:Mr. Apollo (Amazing tongue-in-cheek masterpiece about a guy very much like Charles Atlas...you know the 97-pound-weakling-turned-bodybuilder who ran ads for his fitness program on the back page of comic books? Crank this one up and feel the rumble of the manly bass.)
- Blue Öyster Cult:Joan Crawford (No...no no no...no no no no nono no nono!)
- Chris Rea:The Road To Hell (Part One) & (Part Two)
- Randy Newman:Feels Like Home
- Monty Python:Bruces' Philosophers Song (Yes, Socrates himself is particularly missed...)
- Joe Purdy:Isn't Love
- Dada:Dizz Knee Land (Pollyanna goes bitter?)
