For LyricWiki
- This is an add-on that will cut down on repetitive editing by quite a margin. The way it works, is that you type in a key word that you define, hit the "Trigger Keys" (Ctrl + Alt + M by default) and the key word is replaced by the string of your choosing. - These two are something like twin cousins. Smart Bookmarks removes the titles of the bookmarks on the bookmark toolbar, and can be made to show the titles on mouseover, or simply appear as icons. This is where Favicon Picker comes in, to allow you to choose the icon of any bookmark, whether on the bookmark bar or in the menu. Trust me, that beats having 28 green-shirted LyricWiki dudes lined up across the bar. Even if you do not use your bookmark toolbar for LyricWiki, you can still pack a lot more bookmarks on without the names cluttering the space. (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
- Tweaks adds some flexibility to the findbar, which is useful on those long pages that you just need to find something now. Most notable is being able to close the bar by double clicking anywhere on it. (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
- This feature will allow you to name and save your entire current session. What is nice about this is that it has no limit to the number of different saves, as well as having a manager for closed tabs within the session. (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
- This one is not for the faint of heart, as the learning curve is a bit steep. But, this macro maker can do just about anything you normally do browsing the internet. Plus, iOpus has several resources to help you through making your first macros, and beyond. Because LyricWiki is so uniform, a macro can be applied across almost any page, and can cut the time of tasks just a little too repetitive otherwise (such as deleting or moving at mass, or other simple things). (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
- Need to jump into IRC but don't feel like loading a separate client? Do it without leaving your browser! ChatZilla opens a full-featured IRC client inside a browser window. A robust set of IRC features (including logging, multiple servers, and DCC transfers) can be fully configured with Javascript plugins and CSS styling to perfectly meet your needs. (Recommended by — jF)
- While we are at promoting IRC, we may as well promote our very own LyricWiki channel! If LyricWiki is the office, quakenet.org/LyricWiki is gametime on the weekends. (Shamelessly plugged by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )

- Greasemonkey is a Javascript platform for making add-on like scripts. However, Greasemonkey's userbase is massive, and writing new scripts all the time at [Userscripts.org. So if you know Java, you can make your own. If you are like me, and don't know any, you can use the scripts already written. A word of warning: this is the wild west of add-ons, more bugs and more bad interactions, so use at your own risk. Here are some LyricWiki-relevant scripts:
- Wikipedia Animate will animate (duh?) the history of pages, so you can see each change over time, as a slideshow. (Recommended by Kiefer talk contribs admin )
- wikEd is a modified editor for wikis, and is compatible with LW, which is awesome. Has special features like fullscreen mode, and text replacement, as well as a ton of others. (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
- Spellcheck All Inputs is for those of us that are tired of having to select "Spellcheck this field" over and over. A simple little script that takes care of an annoyance. (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
- Last.fm Lyrics This script adds a panel with song lyrics retrieved from LyricWiki to Last.fm song pages. (Recommended by ♫Яєdxx ♪♫♪♫♪Talk)
- Clippings - a very simple, easy to use add-on that copies/stores contents of your clipboard for later use. Hot-keys can be assigned to each piece of text, or you can select from the context menu simply by right clicking. You can also group relevant text under categories. (Recommended very highly by ♫Яєdxx ♪♫♪♫♪Talk)
For Beginners
- Adblock offers powerful blocking of undesired Internet content, with lots of flexible ways to surf in style. Content such as banner ads, popups, Javascript, Flash, IFRAMEs, video players, and even entire servers/domains can be blocked, either appearing as empty spots in the layout or not at all. A simple right-click takes care of most items! You won't believe how wonderful it is until you find yourself blocking some of the most notorious banner ad servers in the world, and never see their banner ads again! (Recommended by — jF)
- This is a companion extension to Adblock or Adblock Plus and should be used in conjunction with it. This extension automatically downloads the latest version of Filterset.G every 4-7 days. Filterset.G is an excellent set of filters maintained by G for Adblock that blocks most ads on the internet. (Recommended by Jeff Saul (T-C-A-E))
- Tab Mix is probably one of the most robust and full-featured extensions there is. It adds capability and customizability to Firefox's tabs. From extra context menu options (rightclick menu), to where to open a new tab. TMP even has an improved session saving option as well as a new interface for when there are too many tabs for the bar. (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
- For the music lovers (and I assume you have to at least like music to be here) we recommend FoxyTunes. It is a music search engine integrated with player controls integrated with your browser. FoxyTunes previously used LyricWiki for lyrics (!) but sadly, due to contractual problems their developers have to use a different lyrics engine. It is unfortunate, but this does not stop this extension from being a top pick. (Recommended by King_Nee1114 (talk page • contributions • deletions) )
User_Defined
Here are some other extensions that our other users have presented. Feel free to leave a recommendation, but please make sure that it has not already been posted.
- ColorfulTabs colors every tab in a unique color and makes them easy to distinguish while enhancing the appeal of the Firefox interface. (Recommended by ♫Яєdxx ♪♫♪♫♪Talk)
- Wikimedia+ adds a list of recently viewed pages on the left-most column of Wikimedia pages. This gives you easy, one-click, access to any of your last ten pages. (Recommended by ♫Яєdxx ♪♫♪♫♪Talk)
- Ever get tired of sites saying you can't come in just because you're not using the browser they want you to use? Get User Agent Switcher, and walk right in! User Agent Switcher alters the user agent headers your browser identifies itself with, making sites you visit think you're using a different browser. With a simple click, you can become Internet Explorer, AOL, Opera, or Safari. You can even become a browser for a different operating system, or mimic a spider like Googlebot! (Recommended by — jF)
- Notifies you when updates are available for your extensions and themes. Allows quick access to your extensions and themes and the ability to check both types for any updates. Easily configurable for automatically installing updates when available and checking for updates when Firefox starts. (Recommended by Jeff Saul (T-C-A-E))
