[edit] lyricswiki and main page translation
Hi, I've been talking to Sean and he pointed me here. I'd like to contribute with translation. I don't know if it's possible to use Polish interface with common lyrics. If so I could make it Polish. If not prepare the Main page template at (probably) /Main_page/pl and I'll translate it. --Dekoderek 02:44, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
- I created stub pages for the Polish main page. You will need to provide translations for the pages at these locations:
- You will not be able to save changes to these pages as they are automatically protected. Either leave the translations for the pages on their talk pages or below on this page and I will copy them over.
- If you are willing to do translations for more that these pages, let me know and I will do whatever is needed to help you.
- Thanks for your willingness to help out.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 22:58, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
- I hope you don't mind google doc. I won't mind if you put me as page (or at least translation) author on the pages :) If there's anything more that could be "polish" let me know. --Dekoderek 12:54, 2 August 2007 (EDT)
- I don't mind at all. If you want to, you can translate basically anything on that page that is currently English like Album of the Week, Editor's Corner, and so on. Song of the Day probably is not a good idea right now as it changes daily. The "Welcome To LyricWiki" at the top of the page and the "LyricWiki is run by 13 admins. This community withstands of 5927 users and has uploaded a total of 6785 files." at the bottom of the page is open as well. I may have to make a few changes to the main page, but I have been thinking of doing that anyway.
- Again, thank you for your willingness to contribute.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 00:01, 3 August 2007 (EDT)
- Added missing paragraph for Description/pl (I've deleted it after translating) and changed Polish "by hometown". In free time I'll translate some more texts, headers mainly. You could put flags in front of lang names (so they'll be more visible) and English (or GB) in front of English only text (like that song of a day) at translated version. --Dekoderek 02:54, 3 August 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Suggestions for better search results @ Google
Love the site. I'm a friend of a friend of Colobmo's. Although I don't know him personally, my friend I said that you probably have administration rights and can make the simple change I am suggesting. From what I hear Colombo doesn't have time for search engine customizations for LyricWiki, so maybe you can take this on.
Just change the title of the pages to have the word "Lyrics" in the front.
Example: Lyrics - Al Green - Lean On Me from LyricWiki.com
I am pretty sure this would boost your page rank significantly and help with the costs of the site as banner presses would increase.
Good luck with the site and your work for it is quite amazing.

[edit] Album Art
I've noticed since I came back that the artwork on album pages (Hawksley Workman:Lover/Fighter_(2003), for example) bleeds off into the right column where the ad goes in IE. Firefox seems to be fine, but Opera also has a problem. I don't want to mess with code that I'm unfamiliar with, so I thought I'd bring it to you and see what you thought.----Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 14:15, 23 August 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Example image
I noticed you are on, so I have a question. First of all I want to say, you're crazy, and I mean that in a good way, based on how much you've done in the past few days with orphaned pages, other songs pages, and whatever else you've done. As I was looking over the list, I came across Image:Example.jpg somehow. Someone had uploaded a random album cover image for this image name, but I looked over, and corrected, all uses of this image. Then I tried to upload a more generic example image, but even after uploading the new image and purging the cache, it still looked like the old image. I just wanted to see if another user, one who probably does not have this page in his/her history, to look at the image page. Please tell me what the image looks like (Feel free to reply here, since it'll probably be easier. --WillMak050389 23:14, 2 September 2007 (EDT)
- A grey background with "Example Image" in black letters (calligraphy). You may need to clear your browser cache to see the updated image. In firefox this is shift+click on the reload button, (I think).
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 23:16, 2 September 2007 (EDT)
- P.S. most of the work is being done by a bot, but I would *NEVER* let a bot delete pages, so I am doing that part manually. (mind-numbing work)
- Ok, the shift click worked. Thanks for letting me know. I knew the bot was grouping the orphaned pages onto artist pages, but I had noticed how you were deleting all the other songs pages and some other incorrectly titled pages. Hope you like the image, I thought it was simplistic but proved its point and it only took like a minute to make. --WillMak050389 23:32, 2 September 2007 (EDT)
- I'm just loading the orphaned pages list and opening every page with ':Other Songs' and then deleting them. The bot orphans those pages as it adds songs to the artist page, so I just follow it and delete them.
- And I think that image will work nicely.

[edit] Spam Filter
Have you had problems with the spam filter? I am trying to format the Paris Hilton page, and entering her official site tripped the filter. It said to contact an admin, but I am one, so is there a "trip switch" of sorts for us admins? --WillMak050389 12:46, 3 September 2007 (EDT)
- I haven't had any problems with it. You will need to talk to Sean about this as I don't have server admin access and he does.

[edit] Your bot, again
Your bot keeps adding dupes on Sleater-Kinney, I added a deletion tag so the dupes can be deleted---- —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dejavula (talk • contribs) .
- Thanks for letting me know. Those songs are duplicate entries into the wiki and should be marked for deletion (and not removed from the 'Other Songs' section until I am finished running the bot completely. Otherwise they will just be added back. And the bot is not broken, but doing exactly what it was told to do which is add ALL orphan songs to their artist's page. It does have duplicate detection, but it is case sensitive, so duplicates will be listed and can be marked for deletion.

[edit] Dir En Grey
Are you trying to correct this page? I started to yesterday or the day before, but it's so messed up and I'm unfamiliar with Japanese artists and format that I was afraid I'd mess up as many things as I fixed. User:Hilv Nobility 2007 is doing work with the artist, but so many of the pages that he's editing are still under "Dir en grey." The page is in my "work" folder but to be honest, that page scares me a little! ;- ] If you're going to have a go at it, I'll hold off for now. --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 10:50, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
- Whoops, I just looked at the history of the page, and he's reverted the links to the incorrect capitalization. Rrrrrrrrr. You want to talk to him? --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 10:52, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
- Sure.
- I'm trying to fix it. User:Hilv Nobility 2007 keeps reverting my changes to use Dir En Grey (correct for this site LW:PN) instead of Dir en grey (what the artist uses) and changing the links to use the romanized version of the title instead of the Japanese, so it is somewhat of an uphill battle.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 11:00, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
- Try leaving a note for him as a reminder, and then if the reverts continue, I guess the page can be temporarily protected while it gets cleaned up. Hate to do that, though. I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding. --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 11:03, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Thanks!
Thanks! I have no idea to add color right now. But, I'll try to learn. I will move it though! It will probably be moved to the top of the page. But again, thanks! Tcatron565 17:23, 10 September 2007 (EDT)
- Oh! Well, thanks for doing that! :) Tcatron565 17:13, 11 September 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Why did you delete Other Songs?
I understand the policy of capitalisation and won't change them from now on. However, I have one thing to ask you. Why did you delete songs in Other Songs? Was it wrong to list songs there?
- No, I was trying to see what I had left to fix and I ran into another problem. It's back.

[edit] SOTD September 12, 2007

Thanks for nominating a song and for contributing to LyricWiki!

[edit] Janitor
Hey, Teknomunk. Janitor is messing things up in Tiamat adding incorrect lyrics as "Other Songs". I know that this is an automatic process, and that it is necessary, but the article is already finished. There is any way to avoid this? Thanks! --Anton 17:40, 12 September 2007 (EDT)
[edit] I ask you to revive songs
You have deleted some songs on the page of Dir en grey.
I ask you to revive the songs below.
Dir En Grey:304号室、舌と夜
Dir En Grey:304号室、母と桜
—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hilv Nobility 2007 (talk • contribs) .
- Done. The pages are at:
- Dir En Grey:304号室、舌と夜
- Dir En Grey:304号室、母と桜

[edit] Question regarding accents in titles
I want to go through, at the very least, the Josh Groban page. Several of his songs are duplicates because of accents in the title. For example, there's a page for Alejate, and then a separate page for Aléjate (note the accent on the e). Which of these should stay and which should be NFD? DaineNYU 23:36, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
- If the pagename is only missing an accent, it should be changed into a redirect to the correct pagename. If the pagename has encoding problems, it will need to be deleted.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 00:03, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
- Then which should be the main page and which the redirect? From what you said, it seems the accented version should be the main page, with the unaccented version having the redirect. Is this correct? DaineNYU 00:06, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
- That is correct, Josh Groban:Aléjate would be the main page and Josh Groban:Alejate would be the redirect.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 00:12, 25 September 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Tabitha's Secret and Matchbox 20
Is there any way to keep the Janitor from adding all those "Other Songs"? Most, if not all, of those songs are either a) on the 3 Matchbox 20 albums, b) on the Tabitha's Secret albums, c) not performed by Matchbox 20, d) incorrect. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tejdog1 (talk • contribs) .

[edit] Weird stacking on album pages
I have seen this a couple of times, most recently on Linkin Park:Meteora (2003), where there are multiple items on the right side of the page, forcing the song list to drop rather low. Is there a way to force the song list to be on the left, with the rightside elements just stacking beside it? I figured you would know a good fix, since you deal with similar situations with the Japanese tracks. Thanks in advance --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 02:04, 6 October 2007 (EDT)
- I don't really deal with this a lot, but what I did (I don't know if it is a very good solution) was to move those items under the album art. I don't particularly like this solution, but it does put the song list at the top.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 13:14, 6 October 2007 (EDT)
- In Firefox, but IE7 is still mucked up. Grrrr. Ah well. Firefox rules. (Opera's fine, as well.) The site looks prettier in IE7, though! --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 19:26, 6 October 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Blank Artist Pages
There are a lot of artist pages that have an album's worth of songs, but no lyrics for any of them (ie: Delirium or Jeden Osiem L). Would you say it is better to leave be, or delete them?
- Kingnee1114lyrics 22:21, 6 October 2007 (EDT)
- If I may butt in, cause I noticed the message: I would leave them be (or better yet, find lyrics for at the very least, one of the songs). These artists most likely exist, the lyrics have just not yet been added to the database. Deleting their page until one of their songs is on here would be a waste of work in my opinion. Hope that makes sense. Oh, and I'll use this reply to welcome you to the admin team, so: Welcome! --WillMak050389 23:24, 6 October 2007 (EDT)
- I would leave the page as it contains at least a little information about the artist, even though it is not lyrics. So as WillMak said, keep. I try to err to the side of not deleting things if possible (I try to redirect incorrect pagenames unless it is really bad or will never be searched for by anyone).
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 00:45, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
- Alright, thanks both. I've been cleaning out the Lonely Pages songs as much as possible, and I think the mindset of 'I don't care, as long as it's off the little list.' I'll try to tone that down.
- - Kingnee1114lyrics 01:40, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
- Missed out on the conversation! (I agree with all, though. Red links aren't a bad thing, they actually help. If someone was a Delirium fan and looked at that page with all those empty links, I think they might actually get inspired to turn a few blue! At any rate, the page was a disaster. So, thanks to this discussion, it has been cleaned up considerably and an album's worth of lyrics added. Woo-hoo! --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 20:31, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Possible & problem with the Label template?
Could you take a look at the The Human League page? Currently when the A&M label link is clicked, it takes one to instead of . Can this be fixed? (This problem was brought up on the Talk:The Human League page.) --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 22:38, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
- That looks like it is a problem with the mod_rewrite for the apache web server and I can't do anything about it. We have had this problem in the past and haven't been able to fix it. However, I will let Sean know about it again.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 23:03, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
- I just got creative and made the bad page into a redirect to the good page, since the problem only appears while using the template. --Kiefer <img src="/images/5/58/KieferE.jpg" alt="Esperanza" /> <img src="/images/f/f9/KieferTalk.jpg" alt="Talk!" /> 12:51, 11 October 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Beginner's questions again
hi, teknomunk,
(you was so kind to response quickly to my help request, so now you can only punish yourself ;) )
here me again with my stupid questions:
1. could you give us some guidance - how should we resolve such cases as I've found in Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, where 2 sections 'Other Songs' contain over 300 songs, all addressed to Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds? Maybe you could run some batch job, moving all those pages to correct namespace? If no, what is the best way to manage such conflicts?
2. Help:Contents/Editing/Formatting/Artists points out that all naming must be as close as possible to origin and the very first letter should always be used, even if the first word is A, An, or The. EX: fLetter=T. That's why when I decided to add lyrics to Scotish group 'The Sensational Alex Harvey Band' page and found almost empty stub page Sensational Alex Harvey Band, I decided to redirect this page to correctly named page The Sensational Alex Harvey Band I've created. Only after some time I noticed that this page (created automatically by template) has fLetter=S instead of T. Is it under design? If so, how can you explain such mismatch between rules and default template behavior? Or am I missing something here?
3. ...and again - any news about adding timed lyrics to LW?
thanks again, regards,
--Senvaikis 15:11, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
- 1. If it is just a matter of mass redirection, I have a script lying around (that I just found again :p) that I could. I've already removed the second "Other Songs" section that Janitor was adding to the page.
- 2. I hadn't noticed that, looks like I need to leave Sean another note.
- 3. Not really, I need to let Sean know to fix the upload problems.
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 16:01, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
- thanks; expedition of your reaction is impressive indeed:) --Senvaikis 16:28, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
- I risk to look pesky, but can I ask you one more favour? If you'll contact with Sean, - can you please ask him about SOAP WS client realization in .NET? For some reason nobody had responded to this question in my talk. I even started to suspect that I've broke some 'WL good-behavior rule'...
- cheers, --Senvaikis 16:54, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

[edit] Translations, links to other sites in lyrics...
Hello!
Remember I asked for some help about posting links inside lyrics, in order to explain some cultural references made by the artists?
Here is the page in which I met this problem.
It's a riot-grrrl band, so their lyrics are very political/questionative, so you better read it with caution :-)
See you around!

[edit] Album Of The Week submission
Hey, Teknomunk, a couple of things:
- Think we could expand on the guidelines for nominations a wee bit? I submitted one, then looked back at the page and realized I had overlooked the "4-6 sentence" part. Clearly blew that out of the water on my submission. If that disqualifies me, I won't take offense. But I thought I did a pretty good job on my submission, and would at least like a fair hearing. :)
- Second, still having trouble with that A&M link. Kiefer did a redirect to bypass that problem with the label template, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to make it work. My submission wouldn't get disqualified for an unresolved problem, would it? :)
Thanks as always!
JF 05:44, 17 October 2007 (EDT)
- For the first one, that is more of a minimum. I had a look at the review and I don't think that any of the admins will have a problem with it. At most, it would have to have to summarize a bit, but it looks excellent.
- For the second one, as I said above, I am rather busy with school, but I will get to it as soon as I can. I will have to get a development server set up at my place to debug the mod_rewrite problem.

[edit] Uneasiness
Hi, teknomunk, I am puzzled as to what to do further: for some unnamed reason you are the only one responding to my questions/notes here. I do suspect that I've made some terrible mistake at the very begining as I was joining LW. I have no other explanation of such disregard of all my posts:
- Question about problems uploading lrc resulted by 'silent' disabling of Timed Lyrics type in Acceptable Files list with no comments;
- Note about minor bug in REST Api function GetArtist - no response;
- and the main - questions about LW WS (wsdl) in my talk and even readdressed to Sean - again no single word from him;
Having a huge collection of records with tried and tested lyrics (timed - also), I was so excited finding your site, so I surely wanted to join you somehow in your work. Then I quickly came to the conclusion that WS is the most acceptable way for me to contribute to WL. Now my intentions remain the same, I'm just afraid to post/ask/suggest something here without knowing what was/were my mistake/s. Sorry for dumping all my troubles on you, but, as I said, currently you are the only one I know here who can help me getting the answer. (Sure you're not the only one, you just have bad luck because I don't know anybody other yet :) ).
regards, --Senvaikis 09:56, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
- I haven't seen you do anything wrong. With regards to Sean, sometimes it is a few weeks before he responds to my posts (and sometimes they are ignored). It seems like he is rather busy and it is nothing personal. Just that he has to prioritize what is done. Also if you want somebody else that answers questions in a timely manner, have a look at Kiefer. Sometimes it seems that at times we fight over who gets to answer a post :P
- Now back to the timed lyrics. If we are unable to upload them as a file I see no other way than to add them as a regular page. Since you have a bunch of already timed lyrics (I will have to go and make a few for the songs I have), I think that you should go first. (And if somebody gets on your case about it, just let me know and I will vouch for you, though I don't think it will be a problem) I would suggest that you add the timed lyrics at the standard page name + /standard.lrc or something similar. So for a song BoA:Every Heart the lrc would be at BoA:Every Heart/standard.lrc. Or something like this.
- We will have to modify Lrc to support this and make it easy to edit the lyrics and such. I'll have to get back with you after classes are over but I think adding timed lyrics would add a lot to the site and will try to do everything I can to help.
- Thanks, teknomunk - you released me from some kind of inferiority complex :).
- About timed lyrics - ok, I'll try to make some testing pages. But imho present interface of posting to LW is hardly acceptable when we speak about hundreds or thousands of records. Especially for guys like me, who'd rather write some program than agree to repeat manual 'page creating /content inserting/page saving' rutina :). That's why I'm so interested in WS ;)
- thanks you once more, ---Senvaikis 13:07, 22 October 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Redirects from the wrong artist
Hey 'Munk, I noticed you removed my deletion request from Soundgarden:Seasons. I have tried to clean up some artists pages and found some songs with the wrong attribution and made them redirects: when I removed the link from the "Other Songs" section, however, some bot adds them back (even though they are redirects) because they're still "by" the artist and not listed on their page. That's why I mark those as redirects: so I can delete them off the page and they not come back. --Åqúàŧĩkī - É - Ŧ 08:58, 25 October 2007 (EDT) (PS Still interested in your MediaWiki extension)
[edit] Gil Scott-Heron problems
Hey there, it's your Last.fm buddy. A few days ago I did a major revision of the Gil Scott-Heron page, adding album artwork for all albums. Because some of his albums are shorter than 12-13 songs, I put in some extra lines to ensure that the album artwork didn't jut into the next album's section (if you go to the page now, you can see the problem - it pushes the album artwork down so that the artwork for the "Gil Scott-Heron and his Amnesia Express" album actually appears next to the tracklist from "Glory".
Anyways, I added all this spacing, and then the Orphan bot came along later and added an orphaned song (a duplicate that was mislabeled) and then deleted all the extra spaces, which is why the page looks like it does now. The culprit is a page entitled Gil Heron:The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, which is a duplicate of the properly-labeled Gil Scott-Heron:The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, which is a far more complete page, and was song of the day a while back.
If I revert the Gil Scott-Heron page to the way it was before the orphan bot came along, it will just redo the edits and throw off the spacing. Seems like the only way to fix this would be to delete Gil Heron:The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (which I tried to delete but couldn't b/c I'm not an admin), and then go revert Gil Scott-Heron to version I edited immediately before the Orphan Bot. Could you help take care of this? Thanks a lot. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Davemcarlson (talk • contribs) .
- The correct way to fix the layout of the album art is to use the template clear. This will add as much spacing as is needed to fix the layout. I already added this to Gil Scott-Heron's page so that you don't have to.

[edit] Concerning Bj?rk
Something that I had noticed about the lonely pages is that certain artist appear, no matter how many other pages are linked to them, and also, in the case of Bjork and others, that the Other Songs page remains visible, despite being deleted. You click on the link, and there is nothing there.
And on a completely different note, there are some accounts that use an autogenerator for lyrics, and I was wondering if anybody knew where to get a program like that. (I mean sure, I could try to program something myself, but that has only ever ended in tears). The reason I ask, is that there are a few artists with fairly large discographies that are either not present at all, or very limited. By hand would not be the most effective.
If anybody has some info on either one of those, let me know

[edit] Please do not delete my posting !!!
Teknomunk, I am TofuUnion who updated Puffy (AmiYumi) Lyrics lately.
Why did you break my posting ? You deleted songs list which I posted in " Other Songs ".
They were carefully updated with the intention that not a single song should be duplicated in " Other Songs " and the songs list should be COMPLETE.
I have to fix them again.
Could you please not disturb it !!!
- I'm not sure how I messed up. I went and looked at my edits for the past two months and other than reverting vandalism, the only edit I have made to Puffy AmiYumi songs has been to Puffy AmiYumi:赤いブランコ. Now, I completely agree that Puffy's page needs to be fixed up. I fixed up the song you mentioned already.
- Anyways, I will leave you to your editing.
[edit] Thank you for your understanding !
Sorry, I said too much on your Japanese / Hazumu Rizumu etc. I want to remove songs names from " Other Songs " which already exist in other allbums list, in order not to make confusions.
I also corrected your " Red Swing " and posted dozens of Romaji / English.

- No problem. And thanks. I am glad every time I see another editor working on Japanese songs here. If you stay around, you'll probably run into me again.

- Whoa, I think that was me, by the way. I was working on Puffy AmiYumi a little, and saw that there were several red songs in the Other Songs section. I removed them, being that if they were real, Janitor would put them back. I see now someone else was working on it too, so I am sorry, TofuUnion.

[edit] Hey, think I might have found TWO problems...
Janitor has been mean to me again. ;-) Apparently it doesn't like level 4 headings, using five equals signs. It insists on changing them to something above level 1 (level zero?) using a single equals sign. In doing so, it's screwing up pages with valid markup (at least according to the Cheatsheet), such as this page (note that it also throws the generation of the TOC completely out of whack). It's probably attempting to fix poorly marked up pages, but it's trashing valid ones. That's the first issue—mind taking a look at it when you have time?
Second possible issue—I note that according to the Wikipedia section on headings, that a single equals is H1, or heading level 1, and is what the article title defaults to. While I understand that LyricWiki might have some changes to the setup that Wikipedia uses, my testing indicates that the header codes work identically between the two, even with respect to underlining. Check it out:
[edit] A single equals is an H1, or level 1 heading, and gets underlined.
[edit] Two equals is an H2, or level 2 heading, and gets underlined.
[edit] Three equals is an H3, or level 3 heading. Nothing this level or below gets underlining.
[edit] Four equals is an H4, or level 4 heading.
[edit] Five equals is an H5, or level 5 heading.
[edit] Six equals is an H6, or level 6 heading.
[edit] =Anything with more than seven equals is treated as H6, with the remaining equals treated as enclosed normal characters.=
The behavior above matches what Wikipedia describes. Assuming both wikis are using the same setup, that would make our Cheatsheet a tad incorrect, wouldn't it?
Incidentally, please forgive the extra TOC above. Wasn't quite sure how to shut it off without affecting the entire page. I'll experiment with that in a safer location. ;-)

- Actually, disregard the TOC comment. It doesn't appear, and I'm going to have to examine the page and see how that works. ;-) — jF 16:11, 1 November 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, there are additional headlines that can be created. I copied the page from Wikipedia and removed the extraneous stuff and kept the good, and that's how they had the headlines section at the time. (EDIT:Still is. I see on the Style Guide page that you link to that the H1 header is used automatically for the page/article title, and therefore isn't really meant to be used elsewhere.) Feel free to edit and add the others if you wish. My only real concern is that we don't use the one-equals-sign header for anything as far as I can recall and adding it in might just add a bit of confusion to new wiki-ers. (Which may also be why Wikipedia didn't include the largest header, as well.) Kiefer talk contribs admin 18:54, 1 November 2007 (EDT)
- Agreed. While generically inclined towards documenting everything for the sake of completeness, the potential for confusion is clear, not to mention the possibility of introducing some misuse of the H1 and H6 headers. That thought did cross my mind, and I was going to say that if changes were made to the Cheatsheet, it should come with a clear warning that use of H1 is inappropriate. I was concerned that a novice user might accidentally slip in a pair of equals signs and have a headache trying to figure out where the huge, underlined text was coming from, but then I remembered that headers have to exist on their own line for the code to be recognized. Not as easy a mistake to make as I first thought. So you're absolutely right—the Cheatsheet is probably better left the way it is. — jF 01:52, 2 November 2007 (EDT)
[edit] How do you redirect?
Well, how do you redirect duplicate songs and songs by another artist that are being added by your bot in Depswa's page?
Depswa 18:02, 3 November 2007 (EDT)
- To redirect, for example, Despwa:Some Song to Despwa:Correct Title, you would replace the contents of Despwa:Some Song with #REDIRECT Despwa:Correct Title
- - teknomunk (talk,E,歌) 21:37, 3 November 2007 (EDT)
- You'll have to redirect the songs because I just don't get it. The first five songs after "Path" are by Takida and the next two and "Path" were already in the album, but under the appropriate titles.

[edit] Teknomunk, might wanna look at this...
Please take a peek at the discussion on the Human League talk page. It appears the Janitor bot caused some havoc on its most recent pass. Note my last edit compared to what it left. If I'm doing something wrong, by all means let me know. Thanks!
jF 04:10, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
- Would still like you to take a peek, but Perfectwave has cleaned things back up. Concerned that might happen again with the next Janitor pass, but in the meanwhile, will go back to editing. Thanks again.
- jF 05:15, 12 October 2007 (EDT)
- Yup, it happened again. Janitor bot is screwing up the nice pretty page every time he makes a pass. Any idea why he's doing that? — jF 06:06, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Janitor & "Too many connections"
I noticed that Janitor has been replacing the contents of pages with "Too many connections." It appears from the Aerosmith page that it can also restore the page, but I wanted to make sure that everything was really okay. Kiefer talk contribs admin 14:07, 7 November 2007 (EST)
